Background

Petrojadi Sdn Bhd (PJSB) was established in October 1994 to encourage local Bumiputra participation in support industries for the Energy and Oil & Gas sector in Sabah.

Immediately after incorporation, PJSB secured a contract to transport Petronas MFO fuel for ARL Power Sdn Bhd – the first 50MW IPP MFO fired diesel power plant at Melawa, Kota Kinabalu in the state of Sabah in 1995.

Subsequently, PJSB was given additional task to manage not only the delivery of Petronas MFO fuel but also timely ordering of Petronas MFO fuel for ARL Power plant. Comfortable with the management of ARL Power MFO fuel requirements, PJSB further secured the management of ARL Power Lubricating Oil requirements.

Apparently, such fuel management services require licenses from the Department of Environment (DOE) Sabah. PJSB created another inroad in 1996 when it obtained licences from DOE Sabah to handle and manage such scheduled wastes covering:

  • SW305 (Spent lubricating oil)
  • SW306 (Spent hydraulic oil)
  • SW307 (Spent mineral oil-water emulsion)
  • SW308 (Oil tanker sludge)
  • SW309 (Oil-water mixture)
  • SW310 (Sludge from mineral oil storage tank)
  • SW311 (Waste oil or oily sludge)
  • SW312 (Oily residue from oil or grease interceptor)
  • SW314 (Oil or sludge from plant maintenance operation)

To complete the management and handling of such scheduled wastes PJSB obtained additional licences from DOE Sabah with the installation and commissioning of an incinerator to become the first final disposal facility for oily scheduled wastes in state of Sabah.

It was installed within ARL Power plant facility with the relevant oily sludge interceptors commissioned at the end of 1996. It is still operating until today.

With our corporate philosophy as the guiding principle in all our endeavours since incorporation, PJSB quickly built up a reputation in the Energy, Oil & Gas supporting industry sector by dedicating relentless efforts into establishing itself as a trusted provider of fuel and scheduled waste management and diverse engineering services, in the state of Sabah.

  • Blessed with dedicated workforce of mostly Sabahans, who are resourceful specialists in their own fields, we are continuously looking for new ventures to diversify our business in preparation for future challenges.
  • PJSB has nevertheless always maintained its focus on achieving its avowed objective of becoming the trusted provider of support services for the Energy and Oil & Gas related industries, namely, scheduled waste management, manpower supply and engineering services.

Future Outlook

Constantly planning for the future and in this respect we are working towards expansion of our services range to include:

  • Extension of scheduled waste management services to establish our own but not limited to e-waste and scrap metal recycling and final disposal facility using our existing incenerator.
  • Build, Own and Operate (BOO) a scheduled waste Final Disposal Facility to include briquetting, incineration and gasification disposal for all types of oily wastes, solid wastes including MSW and other organic waste. A waste to energy plant that could possibly inject excess electricity into the Sabah Grid.
    • We are currently thinking of a Gasifier manufactured by AHT Solutions from Germany with a capacity of 200kg/hour scheduled waste briquettes gasifier to complement our existing incinerator at our Final Disposal Facility. Sufficient gas generated will be used to fire a gas engine to generate electricity for our own use or sell it to SESB.
  • Develop further the LPG Cylinder Repainting Plant to incorporate higher level engineering services for LPG Cylinders to qualify as a LPG Cylinders Requalification services provider for the whole state of Sabah.
    • Discussion with Petronas is in progress to vary our existing LPG Repainting Contract to include requalification services for the whole state of Sabah.
  • Extension of our manpower supply services to other bulk depot, bottling plant and power plant operations and maintenance.
    • Presently soliciting to provide manpower supply services to all PS Terminal and Petronas Depots in the state of Sabah
