Congratulations to the SESB Managing Director

Congratulations to Ir. Hj. Abd Razak Sallim, on his appointment as the first Sabahan SESB Managing Director since its privatisation in 1998 and is the fifth Managing Director of the utility company.

On behalf of the Management and Staff of Petrojadi Sdn Bhd, we would like to wish Ir. Hj Abd Razak Sallim all the best and continue to strive towards continuous excellence of SESB to improve electricity supply in Sabah.

Sabahan now heads SESB

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) will officially be headed by Ir. Hj Abd Razak Salim, as the first Sabahan SESB Managing Director following the company’s privatization in 1998.

Razak will succeed former Managing Director, Datuk Ir. Baharin bin Din, who has returned to Tenaga National Berhad (TNB) Kuala Lumpur after punching out from SESB for the last time yesterday.

“I would like to thank TNB for entrusting this position to a Sabahan, particularly, myself. I hope to get the support from everyone just as Datuk Baharin did and I hope to be able to live up to the good work that he has done for SESB.

“Datuk Baharin has laid down the way and all we have to do is to continue performing our best. God Willing, we will only move upwards from now and try to reach greater heights in our performance for the people of Sabah” said Razak.

He spoke to reporters after Datuk Baharin’s official farewell ceremony, which was held after punching out for the last time at the SESB Building, Karamunsing, here, yesterday.

“Datuk Baharin has been planning out a succession plan for his position ever since he came here and he kept true to his word. I thank him too, for entrusting me,” Razak added.

Meanwhile, when met by reporters, Baharin took the opportunity to thank the State Government, the various Agencies and Departments under the government, as well as the media for giving their best cooperation to SESB to enable us to move our action plans to improve electricity supply in Sabah.

“I hope that this cooperation will continue with my successor for the wellbeing of the people and the state. The four years I have been with SESB were very challenging years but surely enough for me.

“I feel that we have contributed to the progress of the State of Sabah but this has not come easy. However, thanks to the hard work and determination of the staff here, it was accomplished. The experiences I have gained here I will treasure forever,” said Baharin.

The former Managing Director said that Razak is a very capable successor as he has been with SESB for a very long time.

“He has been in my team for the past five and a half years and I don’t see us going down. Instead, we should be going up with his leadership. SESB will go higher and higher,” he added.

When asked about his new posting in TNB Kuala Lumpur, Baharin said that the management has yet to decide, but he indicated that it would be a promotion for him.
